Spending real time gazing into the majesty of God will provide a path to humility; and spending real time gazing into the rich and detailed provisions of our Father for our real needs will cure the chronic victimhood that would have us facing each day barely hanging on.
This text says it rather eloquently:
For this reason, I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height–to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge! that you may be filled with all the fullness of God! (NKJV)
Exalt the riches of God’s mercy. Do not be deceived into making such detailed confession of unmet need that the confession somehow becomes a distorted declaration of God’s limitations, suggesting there was some mysterious lack of foresight in His failure to give me what I needed.
God has no desire or need to see us grovel. None. None. He has said that He will meet my need. Get hold of that.
